Why You Should Keep Lebanese Money With You

It's 10:00am. Time for my morning coffee. I call kitchen, and ask for my regular no-sugar black coffee. A few minutes later, comes the tea-boy with my drug. But contrarily to the daily habit, the guy starts the following conversation with me:
- "You have foulous Lubnan?"
- "Why? You're taking money for coffee now?", I replied jokingly
- "No!", he replied smiling, "collection!"
- "Hehe, let me check, I might have something for you", I said remembering that I still have a few bills of 1,000 LBP in my wallet.
I hand him a 1,000LBP note. He asks:
- "1,000 Lubnan!! how much?"
- "2 and a half riyals", I say.
- "OK. 1,000 Lubnan!", he exclaimed, and continued "you have different country money?"
- "Sorry, No".
- "OK", he replied, "Thank you!", and he turns to go back to the kitchen. He takes one step then turns back and says: "You want Riyal?"
I laughed to his response and waved a "it's OK" sign with my hand.
